Overview |
At the 622 meter tall mountain that rises up to the south of Yahata in Kitakyushu city, considered a rest and relaxation spots for Kitakyushu citizens, one can ride a cable car to the summit. From the summit, Okinoshima Island can be seen on the far distant surface of the sea, and with the former government managed Yawata Steel Works (currently, Nippon Steel Corporation Kyushu Steel Works Yawata District) visible just below, it’s a unique spot where one can view two of the World Heritage sites that Fukuoka prefecture boasts at the same time. |
