Patmos is one of the Dodecanese islands in the southeastern Aegean Sea, where in the medieval city of Chora exists the walled monastery of St. John. St. John, who was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus, had been banished to Patmos, and between 95 and 97 CE, wrote revelations to the saints of the seven churches in Asia. |
