Overview |
The ritual site is situated on the crater walls at the top of Mt. Nantai, which is 2486 m high, in the shadow of the rocks surrounding a shrine. It is the oldest ritual feature, where ritual artifacts have been accumulated in dense overlapping piles between rocks. The history of Mt. Nantai as object of mountain worship is said to date back to 782 CE. |
