Overview |
The Ourahama site is located on the sandbar on the east side of the island of Hitsuishijima, an island with a circumference of 5.4 km located 1 km off Kojima that had once been an island. No ritual archaeological features have been found, but ritual artifacts have been found from archaeological beds. Rituals accompanying salt making were conducted from the end of the 5th century to early 6th century. In the 8th and 9th centuries Nara-style three-colored small jars and ancient coins were used for rituals. |
