| Overview |
The property is a fortified Inca town standing 2280 m above sealevel,
in a natural stronghold surrounded on all four sides by
steep cliffs, in the middle of a tropical mountain forest. There
remain the Temple of the Sun, the Palace of the Princess, ruins
of residential settlements, agricultural terraces, water wells,
drain ditches, ruins of tombs, etc. Traces of the former advanced
civilization and ritual centers are found all over the place. |
