現在の宗像大社で行われている年間40余度の祭事の中で、無形民俗文化財の指定を受けているものは「主基地方風俗舞」（宗像市指定）のみである。しかし、中世の「御長手神事」を参考に整えられた秋季大祭第一日目の「みあれ祭」は、中津宮の鎮座する大島と宗像七浦の漁民が挙って参加し、盛大な海上パレードを繰り広げる祭である。また、「古式祭」は特殊神饌などに重要な民俗文化財的要素を含んでいる。時代の流れと共に変化しながらも、古い姿を伝えようとする人々の宗像神への変わらぬ信仰について紹介する。 |
