百済西海岸の沿岸航路上に位置する竹幕洞祭祀遺跡は海岸祭祀のみならず航海中の物資の補給、船員の休憩のために設けられた港の役割をもつ兼用祭祀遺跡であったと見られる。一方、沖ノ島祭祀遺跡は緊急時の船舶の避難と航海の安全を祈願する祭祀のために設けられた専用祭祀遺跡であったと思われる。両遺跡は航路上の最も危険な海域に位置する点、通常の航路が広く眺められる場所に位置する点など共通する地理的景観をもつ。 |
