中国の祠令が、支配地すべてで、皇帝祭祀の権威を五感で民衆に示すパフォーマンスを規定したのとは対照的に、日本の神祇令は、幣帛を奉献し班布することを規定するだけで、祭場とそこでの祭式についてはそれぞれの土地での多様性を許容した。仏教と習合して重層的で多彩な社殿建築が成立することになった要因の一つである。宗像神社の建築の創建は不明ながら、厳島神社および平家の中世交易に中興の契機があると推測する。 |
