Description |
The wheel-shaped bracelet and the stone bracelets are one type of Kofun period bracelet, fashioned out of jasper, and are seen to follow the shell bracelets used as personal accessories during the Yayoi period The wheel-shaped bracelet is an imitation of a bracelet made by cutting the crown off of the true limpet shell, and the stone bracelets are imitations of bracelets made by cutting rounds out of the cone shell. Compared to their antecedents, they lack practicality but increase their character as prestige goods.
