Description |
This imitation mirror is known as heralding from the last stages of production of these kinds of triangular-rimmed deity-and-beast mirrors (around the end of early Kofun period). With a triangular rim, one part of the interior section is destroyed and one of the decorative buttons is missing but, it is thought that originally there were six of these buttons dividing the section, and between them, there are three images of gods lined up, with two animals placed as though they were touching the deities. Around the inner section, there are nine buttons and fish, frogs, and arabesque patterns of animal designs.
