Description |
In Okinoshima religious rituals, at rituals atop of rocks (at sites 16 and 21) and at rituals in the shade of a rock (site 6), they were offered at religious rituals during the 4th to 5th centuries. At the Okinoshima Shōsanmisha-mae site as well, these were buried within the circular dirt pits at around the mid-5th century. During this time, Japan was dependent upon the Korean peninsula for supplies of iron materials, and the Yamato court took a high level of interest in the possession and procurement of iron ore. It’s thought that the aim of the negotiations between Japan and the various countries of the Korean peninsula was the acquisition of iron.
