Description |
Fragments of a glass vessel with a relief-cut circular design have been excavated on Okinoshima. It is said that glassware made in Sassanid Persia (226-651 C.E., located mainly in what is now Iran) in Western Asia traveled along the Silk Road and then all the way to Japan by way of the Korean Peninsula. This object was reproduced by glass artist Aya Ishida, based on ancient techniques.
