Description |
At the ritual services on Okinoshima during the Kofun period, small, round, and millet-shaped glass beads in colors like blue, navy, green, yellow, and bitter orange, were offered up in huge quantities. Most of them are opaque, but of the blue and navy ones, some of them are partially transparent. With a degree of sparkling brilliance that could fluctuate, they must have been considered very beautiful.
