Description |
Cut from thin sheets of metal, these are miniature recreations of spinning and weaving implements. The two pillars that fork out from the center of a pedestal is a tatari, a tool for threading. The I-shaped kasei, is a tool for rolling thread into a ring-shaped bundle, and the round board with a shaft passing through the center is a tsumu, for spinning the thread. The circular-box container is a wooden vessel (Oke) for holding thread, and the wedge/comb shaped toujo is a part of the weaving.
