This object, cut out of a sheet of gilt bronze, depicts the full body of a standing person seen from the front. The shoulders, arms, and legs are created by cutting incisions, and the eyes, nose, and mouth on the front of the face are chiseled. The distribution of human figures made of metal is limited to only sites of national religious ritual, like Okinoshima, Fujiwara-kyo, and Heian-kyo.
