Description |
This document lists Munakata Shrine, founded and established in the latter half of the Kamakura period, and all of its main and subordinate shrines, as well as all of their annual functions. From the distribution of the enshrined subordinates, written as “The 75 Shrines” we can see the sphere of the Munakata Daigûji family’s control, through religious faith, and with the count of 5,921 as the daily accumulation of Shinto ritual annual functions, we can see how busy the day-to-day lives of the large number of people occupied as Shinto priests must have been. |
