Description A wooden seated sculpture of Priest Shikijyo, who, working on his own, finished transcribing the complete Buddhist Sutras of Tripitaka. From the India ink inscription on its back, we can see that this statue was completed in 1241, during Priest Shikijyo’s lifetime, in the year before his death.
