Description One set of framed pictures (36) dedicated to Hatsu-miya of Munakata Shrine in 1680 by the third feudal lord of the Fukuoka clan, Kuroda Mitsuyuki. The base canvas is one sheet of wood, with a wooden frame coated in black lacquer. In the upper part, square paper shapes are distributed with classic Japanese poems inscribed in India ink, and in the lower part the immortal poet is drawn on a gold paper background. The calligraphy was done by Fujiwara-no-Mototoki, secretary of the Imperial Court, and the illustrations are done by Yasunobu of the Kano family (the grandchild of Kano Eitoku), both the calligraphy and the art of an extremely high caliber.
